GARDEN DESIGN

We believe outstanding results are the outcome of a well considered design process. We approach each garden individually and work to its specific constraints and assets alongside your own requirements and wishes. Creating a garden that works with your lifestyle is central to our design process.

There is nothing initially glamorous about 'functionality', but when something does not work it cannot be enjoyed. This is why we always design to ensure the aesthetic is under-pinned by function.

Each project is dealt with individually and to bespoke needs, however we work to a standard sequence of tried and tested stages which are detailed below. To discuss getting your project off the ground, please get in touch.

THE DESIGN PROCESS...

The stages listed below outline our comprehensive design package, however, the process is designed to be flexible because we know that no two gardens are the same! Whether you are looking for a complete garden re-design, have a border that needs re-planting or just want to discuss some fresh ideas, we can tailor a design service to suit you.

1| INITIAL CONSULTATION

During the initial consultation we will discuss your needs and wishes for the garden as well as assess any initial constraints and opportunities on site. From this we can begin to develop the brief.

2| SITE SURVEY

On confirming the brief we need to obtain a site survey to work from. Depending on the site we will either carry out the survey ourselves or use a local surveyor. If you already have a suitable survey, we will be happy to use that.

3| CONCEPT DESIGN

Informed by the brief, a concept design and mood board will be presented for discussion. At this stage the focus is on developing a successful layout for the space, that ensures the key criteria have been met, before progressing with the detailing.

4| DETAILED DESIGN

Once the concept plan has been agreed we will move on to finalising the materials and producing the detailed drawings. These drawings can then be shared with a Contractor to quote and build from.

5| PLANTING PLAN

A bespoke planting plan will be created using a selection of plants chosen to suit the specific conditions of the site. The planting plan will be accompanied by a schedule which is used when sourcing the plants.

6| PROJECT MONITORING

When it comes to realising the project in real life, by arrangement, we are happy to be on hand to check on progress and help with questions along the way to ensure the project is delivered as intended!

PUBLIC & COMMUNAL

With a huge passion and belief in the influence outdoor spaces can have on communities, we are always looking to get involved with community projects, including schools, hospitals and other local initiatives.

We have experience collaborating with larger firms to deliver larger projects of a public or commercial nature. To date, we have been involved with a number of schemes from outdoor dining areas for restaurants to LVIA's for planning and planting plans across large developments.

If you have a scheme of a public nature or wish to discuss how we can assist you in a working collaboration, please get in touch.
